Currently Professor Emeritus of Criminal Justice and Senior Scientist Institute for Human Rights, University of Alabama at Birmingham. Twenty-seven years' combined experience as faculty member; graduate program director; research center co-founder, associate director, and director; and department chair at R-1 urban university. Extensive experience with all levels of curriculum development, implementation, and assessment; university relations; and development efforts. Recognized expert in crime and related issues on college campuses, including campus policing, college student victimization, and guns on college campuses. Procured $3.7M in extramural funding for research and related activities. Author/co-author of 100+ refereed articles, chapters, reports, and conference papers and 10 books. Co-developer of ACJS Directory of Justice Related Degree Programs and accompanying Directory Dashboard (2020- present).
