Join today! Simply fill out the form below. To join a Section, you must include an ACJS membership type (e.g., Regular, Student, Senior, etc.) or be an existing member of ACJS. 

Dues' payments for membership can be made by credit card or invoice (e.g., billed or check payment). ACJS does not accept purchase orders as payment. Your membership is considered pending until full payment is received. Following receipt of payment, your membership will be Active with full access to the Member Info Hub.

Dues are based on a calendar year, January 1 through December 31. You may join at any time during the year; however, please note ACJS does not prorate dues payments. All payments are final and thereby non-refundable.

Select Your Option(s)

An ACJS Lifetime membership is a one-time membership fee. An individual can elect to pay the full dues amount of $3,000 or four annual installment payments of $750.

An ACJS Institutional membership is $500 annually and available to any institution of higher education offering a bona fide two-year, four-year, or graduate criminal justice degree program or with a criminal justice research institute. Institutional members shall designate one member of their faculty or administration as a regular member. When a university’s organizational system includes multiple campuses, each campus must individually apply for institutional membership if it houses a separately administered program or institute.

An ACJS Regular membership is $125 annually. This membership type references the general membership available to an individual.

An ACJS Senior membership is $80 annually and open to any individual 65 years of age or older. 

An ACJS Student membership is $60 annually and open to any undergraduate or graduate student enrolled at an institution of higher education who supports the purposes of the Academy, whose enrollment can be certified by a regular faculty, or certified by an administrative official of the institution.

The Police Section strives to build networks among police practitioners, researchers and educators. Dues: $37 per year.

The Critical Criminal Justice section promotes empirical and theoretical work on the ways in which ethnic/racial, class, and gender inequality contribute to crime and social control. Dues: $20 per year.

The Corrections Section encourages research and theory development relating to community and institutional corrections, as well as the development of relationships between practitioners, scholars and researchers. Dues: $35 per year; $15 per year for Student members.

The International Section promotes international information exchange, criminal justice research, curriculum development, and international networking. Members receive a subscription to the quarterly journal, International Criminal Justice Review. Dues: $35 per year; $15 per year for Student members.

The primary mission of the Security and Crime Prevention Section is to promote the professional growth and development of its members through service and education to the academic and practical field of security. Dues: $30 per year; $15 per year for Student members.

The Community College Section seeks to further the interests of community colleges, junior colleges, vocational/technical schools, two-year programs, and law enforcement and correctional academies. Dues are $10 annually.

The Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Section promotes communication between academics and practitioners as well as research and theory in the area. Dues: $20 per year; $10 per year for Student members.

The Law and Public Policy Section seeks to raise the awareness of ACJS members to law and policy concerns relevant to criminal justice issues. Dues: $10 per year.

The Minorities and Women Section is for people who are interested in issues within criminal justice that are pertinent to underrepresented minorities and women. Our goal is to further the development of research, theory and teaching practices on issues relevant to minorities and women in criminal justice. Dues: $35 per year; $10 per year for Student members.

The purpose of this section is to bring together Academy members to serve as a multifaceted resource to assist faculty, practitioners, students, administrators, and concerned citizens in their integration of innovative and effective teaching and learning techniques, and the scholarship of teaching within the field of criminal justice education and training. Dues: $20 per year; Free for Student members.

The purpose of the Drugs and Alcohol Research Section is to bring together academy members with a particular interest in drugs and alcohol research. Dues: $20 per year; $5 per year for Student members.

The mission of the section is to: provide a professional arena for academics, educators, justice agency practitioners, and victim advocates interested in developing restorative and community justice theory. Dues: $20 per year; Free for Student members.

The purpose of this section is to bring together Academy members to serve as a multifaceted resource to assist faculty, practitioners, students, administrators, and concerned citizens in their integration of innovative and effective teaching and learning techniques, and the scholarship of teaching within the field of criminal justice education and training.
