2027 ACJS Assessment Workshop

The ACJS Assessment Committee has developed an engaging workshop you don't want to miss! The Assessment Workshop will be held in conjunction with the ACJS 64th  Annual Meeting. There will be two tracks: a Current Issues in Academic Assessment track and a Nuts-and-Bolts training track, with presentations covering the basics of starting and running an assessment program. 

This comprehensive, hands-on workshop is designed specifically for criminal justice educators seeking to strengthen their program assessment practices across diverse institutional contexts. Presenters will guide participants through differential assessment approaches for thesis versus non-thesis programs, graduate versus undergraduate courses, and various delivery formats, including online, hybrid, and face-to-face instruction. Attendees will engage in practical exercises throughout the session, exploring contemporary challenges such as assessing high-impact practices like internships and capstones, integrating AI ethically into assessment processes, and designing meaningful alumni and employer surveys for program improvement. Whether participants teach at small liberal arts colleges or large R1 institutions, they will leave with ready-to-implement rubrics, assessment tools, and a customized action plan tailored to their specific institutional resources and program needs.

The workshop is open to all attendees and is free of charge, but advance registration is required. Registration ends on Monday, February 8, or when the maximum attendance is reached.
