2026 ACJS Cybersecurity Workshop- Fundamental Cryptocurrency Investigation and Blockchain Forensics

Tuesday, March 3, 2026 (3:00 PM - 7:00 PM) (EST)

Description

This intensive training course emphasizes blockchain forensics and hands-on investigative exercises, making it an ideal program for law enforcement professionals, prosecutors, financial industry investigators, and researchers focused on cryptocurrency-related crime. Participants will explore real-world applications of blockchain analysis in a variety of cases, including sextortion, romance scams, pig butchering schemes, and human trafficking. Special attention will also be given to cryptocurrency risks associated with major global events such as the FIFA World Cup.

Core areas of instruction include the detection of money laundering through blockchain analytics, the regulatory landscape surrounding cryptocurrency, and best practices for implementing Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) protocols.

Attendees will engage in hands-on exercises using blockchain forensic tools to trace transactions—learning how to identify source and destination wallet addresses, transaction IDs, timestamps, and the amounts transferred. Through scenario-based exercises, participants will use a document triage worksheet and crypto evidence collection guide, preparing them for immediate deployment in the field.

The workshop will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2026
