Nina Jackson Mitchell is a dynamic higher education professional and Criminal Justice Instructor at Georgia Piedmont Technical College in Conyers, Georgia. A native of Detroit, Michigan, she brings over a decade of experience in criminal justice, social services, and education to her role, bridging the gap between theory and practice for a diverse student body.

At Georgia Piedmont Technical College, Nina occupies a unique intersection in education, instructing dual enrollment high school students alongside active-duty law enforcement officers. This multi-generational classroom environment allows her to foster critical dialogue on justice, ethics, and leadership. Beyond the classroom, Nina is a dedicated student advocate, serving as the Faculty Advisor for the Criminal Justice Club and playing a pivotal role in establishing strategic partnerships that grant academic credit for law enforcement academy training.

Nina is a proud double alumna of Grambling State University, where she graduated with honors, earning both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Criminal Justice. She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Applied Learning Sciences at the University of Miami. Her research interests center on applied learning strategies and leadership development within the criminal justice field.

Prior to her career in academia, Nina served as an Eligibility Worker for the State of Hawaii Department of Human Services and an Assistance Payments Worker for the State of Michigan Department of Human Services. In these roles, she managed high-volume caseloads with exceptional accuracy, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations while advocating for community needs.

In addition to her academic and professional service, Nina is a successful entrepreneur and corporate trainer in the travel industry, mentoring hundreds of remote agents across the United States. She is an active member of the National Association of Blacks in Criminal Justice (NABCJ), the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences (ACJS), and the National Society of Leadership and Success.

Nina is a devoted wife, mother of three, and grandmother who channels her passion for music and classic cars into her vibrant approach to teaching and mentorship.
